I've been doing double posts on my other
blog, which, on top of all the other things I've had to do this week, leaves me little time to post here and little energy to come up with post ideas. I made plum dumplings and canned senf gerkin (German mustard pickles), started and finished a rather short but interesting book, etc., etc. Once my Fan Expo posts are out of the way I should have more time to dedicate to this blog.
In the meantime, Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games series, awaits!

did you make the poppy seed &sugar mix too? i loved plum dumplings but i dont have mom's recipe.

I did. Since I don't have a grinder I grind them with mortar & pestle, then add the sugar.
The recipe's pretty simple. I'll be posting it soon (probably this coming monday). My problem is making sure they're cooked through. I remember the 'rule' being when they float, but mine always float within 5 minutes and they're supposed to cook for 10 or 15.
